AmbientSense Co-Founder Kiernan Bates Discusses Corrosion Intelligence and the IWE
October 16, 2026
AmbientSense Technologies is developing a corrosion intelligence platform designed to help maintainers move from reactive inspections toward proactive, data-driven maintenance. Co-founder and CFO Kiernan Bates discussed how scalable sensors, data collection, and machine learning can help teams better understand corrosion risk and make informed maintenance decisions.
As a partner of the Integrated Warfighter Ecosystem (IWE), AmbientSense brings specialized expertise to a broader network of defense and technology companies. Bates explained that partnerships have been central to the company’s development, making collaboration with the IWE a natural extension of that approach.
Bates also connected AmbientSense’s mission to the IWE philosophy of “By the Warfighter, For the Warfighter.” For AmbientSense, that means starting with the operational problem, keeping the end user in mind, and developing technology that solves real maintenance challenges without creating unnecessary work.
Through its partnership with the IWE, AmbientSense has opportunities to collaborate with organizations bringing complementary capabilities to complex defense challenges.
