CenCore is Awarded $19 Million Contract to Build Mobile SCIFs for the U.S. Marine Corps Warfighting Lab

CenCore has secured a $19 million contract from the U.S. Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL) to build mobile SCIFs (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities), addressing critical secure communications needs as America prepares for potential conflicts with near-peer competitors like China.

The $19 million contract validates a new approach to defense technology development, prioritizing speed, practicality, and mission effectiveness. As military operations shift toward distributed operations in contested environments, CenCore’s solutions position the company at the forefront of critical defense technology while providing Marines with the tools necessary to maintain tactical advantage in future conflicts.

The announcement, featured prominently in Politico Pro’s Morning Defense and Morning Cybersecurity newsletters, underscores the urgent need for portable SCIF solutions in contested environments where traditional secure communication methods prove inadequate.

Strategic Partnership with MCWL

The MCWL serves as the Marine Corps’ innovation hub, developing emerging technologies that enhance warfighter capabilities. This contract aligns with Force Design 2030, emphasizing distributed operations and advanced technologies for contested environments.

The award builds upon previous collaborations where CenCore demonstrated operational effectiveness of their prototype systems, enabling the current production contract to move forward with validated technology and proven mission relevance.

Project 7/11: Battlefield-Ready Infrastructure

Project 7/11, a forward-operating U.S. Marine Corps initiative, will rapidly deploy CenCore’s containerized secure units (CSUs) to the battlefield. CenCore’s exclusively patented CSUs are the only 100% American-made units in the marketplace capable of handling the highest levels of classified information, manufactured in Aurora, CO. These units will enable completely secure edge computing, mission command, and resilient communications in harsh environments for the warfighter.

CenCore’s work with Project 7/11 represents a new phase in USMC modernization strategy—rapidly deployable, low-signature infrastructure that extends Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control capabilities. This approach integrates command and control across all domains, creating unified systems for modern military operations.
